EU Fog light swap to US Model

Yes, the US model has led fog lights as standard.

And they are all but useless for putting any useful light on the road. Plus they do not have replaceable bulbs.

I noticed that there is another one part No for the fog light: 4F9Z15200AA

This part no. is the fog light used on canadian Mustangs, that have an alogen bulb instead of leds.

I removed last time fog light form EU mustang and installed US only reverse lamp. Fog light was installed in taillights as i do in US->EU conversions.

What about high temperatures? Did you try it turn on for a long time?

Yes during installation they were on quite a while. I have not noticed any heat problem. Then behind the bumper there is a lot of space so normally no problem. And the Lights have a good heat dissipator

So here is the lesson: when we'll remove the bumper we must be prepared to change every single light


I can't believe how Ford destroyed the EU lights. It seems like they didn't pay attention at all! And YES I can't also believe that EU homologation etc... thousands of EU models have LED drls, LED lights, etc.
It is absolute cost cutting because of 8" screen and performance package as standard. Period.

Me too. They could have found a way to keep US drl for the rest of the world. They have hundreds of engineers and took about a year to release the EU model. I don't believe there is no way to give us the same product, even slightly modified.
Look at the taillights: ok sequential red are not allowed here, but sequential amber are legal! Why don't they put a stripe of amber led in all three bars and then enable them via software, depending on the destination countries?
Moreover, front tribar drl is a distinctive characteristic of the S550 model, but on our roads you can't identify a Mustang in your rearview mirror without them...

They choose the easy way: in doubt, disable it!

I can only agree with you. The lights in the EU Model are a big joke !

As you said, a lot of new cars have now LED signature lights, sequential turn, LED bulbs, and so on ...
I cannot understand why they made such mistakes with the EU Model. For saving costs ? The US Model with all the LED's is way cheaper than our EU Model, so I can't believe it's for saving money !

They also spend a lot of money and time to made special lights for the EU Market, so why could they not find a way to have it more "Modern" ... addle: -> :ford:
