Well I really didn’t want to get embroiled into the ess debate….I looked at Brad’s log and there’s nothing magic happening. It’s a solid pull with a solid tune. Everything lines up as it should…1.7 load, .8-.85 lambda, 20-21 deg timing (e30 fuel iirc), cam timing doing what you would expect, COT disabled, 60-130 in about 6.2 seconds which equates to about 138 mph in the quarter. This all adds up. The part that doesn’t add up is that the ess website lists the 125 mm pullley as 7 psi and Brad’s gauge roughly agrees, but everything in the log and performance seems to indicate 13-14 psi which I can’t explain.

Car runs hard!

But, man, that's a 6-7 PSI difference which I would agree, is difficult to comprehend...

When the really smart guy is stumped, us mere mortals are clueless...

I agree 100%. It’s just the boost figures assumed/seen are completely against the reality.

@engineermike @Cory S that boost diff is from 7200rpm and up or through the whole log?

Taken into consideration ESS rated the pulley at 7200rpm, I would think @Brad1810r80 is seeing more boost since he is reving past the 7200rpm. Is that fact enough to explain the boost #s?

Just trying to understand the whole thing. I know a lil bit about mods and FI but not so much on the technical side of it.

Still think ESS is a great kit.

My boost gauge read 8 psi at 7600 on the log I sent everyone (125mm pulley and 3200DA 90degs). I still have stock fuel pump with just a booster that can only provide so much fuel. The smallest pulley I've ran is the 115mm and that trap 119mph in the 1/8 on 0 DA day and ran a 4.8 60-130.

The 119 mph and 4.8 60-130 is with drag pack and front rear seats removed.

And what you guys are inferring/deducing lines up with everything we know about supercharging coyotes. 13-14 PSI makes 750whp all day on just about every kit and style of SC. I made 780+ at 14PSI with a D1SC on E85.

Only turbo cars come close to making good power with single digit boost numbers.

Right, but even with the 8lb pulley, his airflow at 7300RPM and dragy time, it’s showing that power is close to 725whp.

It probably makes close to that, I'm on e30 fuel with 20-21 deg timing,

I really don't understand , you can only make so much power on stock fuel pump with a booster. They're plenty of people running 105, 100, and 95 mm pulley's. trying to say they make 23lb plus boost, no they don't . The smallest that's been on my car is 115mm pulley.

I have nothing to hide, hell I shared my logs with whoever wanted them. There was some people on this forum that was at the track when I ran the 6.2 @ 119. @S550DarkHorse
