You gotta do welding to make that happen huh? Looks like it's not just a bolt on thing. How does it sound without them? I read it sounds kinda bad.
Catless sound is subjective… with the right mid pipe and axle back it isn’t horrible. My Borla atak is loud to say the least but that’s where the active exhaust comes in and I knew what I was getting myself into. The right combo will be loud but not obnoxious and still flow good.

My buds 2019 D1X car makes 830whp on a mustang Dyno on 100% factory exhaust. (93/WMI) It’s been between 720 and now over 800whp for 12K miles. It would be no different with an ESS.

Very good question! Another thing that has been talked about and talked about. People have said why can’t we put them on our cars and it comes down to they won’t fit and other reasons etc etc. Ultimately those cars were built around being boosted from the factory and ours were not so you have to pay to play… you can stay with stock or aftermarket’s and take the chance of blowing a motor or run catless and if you are in a state that has testing figure out some way to get around it. I swore years ago I would never boost a car that was built n/a but yet here I am but at least taking the correct steps to do so…
I have high flow cats 100 cell anyone else use them ?

I honestly don't think enough research has been dedicated to this topic, but mostly no one wants to spend $3200 on the GT500 cats/manifolds to chop them up. Im sure the Cats themsleves could be cut out of the OEM GT500 cans, and then welded into new housings or even re-use the GT housings.

I retract my previous statement of not fitting and was remembering Mike talking about the headers won’t fit. But yeah you are correct who wants to cut up that much money in cats just to have to mess with welding them on. If we had emissions testing in FL I would run catless like I am now until I had to get tested and (even as much of a pain as it is) swap back to stock for the testing.

Anything I can do in advance to lessen the load on install day? Was thinking of doing my plugs and 170 therm but think a lot of the work to get to the therm is gonna be redundant.

Wengerd said I can set the 6510s to .026 and that will work while I'm stock and once I have boost.
I would just do the plugs the night before. The thermostat you have to do while installing the kit because you’re going to replace the thermostat housing anyway

You gotta do welding to make that happen huh? Looks like it's not just a bolt on thing. How does it sound without them? I read it sounds kinda bad.
If you have emissions testing I would do kooks headers with the standard cats. And then buy a set of the off road connection pipes. Would be a simple swap back and forth.

Only sounds bad if you don’t have an exhaust setup that works well with headers. I just swapped to a corsa sport catback and it made a huge difference. Sounds great in my opinion. Also you can add the borla mid resonator and it almost completely negates the sound of the headers even with a loud exhaust like the atak, extreme, awe,etc..

I have a set of 2m cat deletes for sale. I had them paired to a steeda H-pipe and stock mufflers. not too loud, but definitely louder than stock. mild amount of drone, but not enough for the wife to complain and she still falls asleep if we are driving for more than an hour.

Ironic that California was the birthplace of hotrodding, and is now the Automotive enthusiast equivalent to North Korea.

Do you have a family member or friend outside of Cali that it could be shipped to and then they ship it to you?
I called Lethal Performance and they said they have it in stock and can ship to California thankfully. ESS just changed to awaiting shipment so all that’s left to get is the tune.

For those of you with the G3 headunit (still waiting patiently🙄- can you tell me what the inlet diameter is, as well as the diameter of the intake tube? I want to get rid of the intake section that has the holes in it for the breathers.
