Wait, so even though it’s being said those metal clips are not needed and just used for assembly purposes....

Isn’t metal like that flowing through the engine head and down into the pan in any way detrimental to any rotating masses is passing over or between??

I don't know but they are so light and as I found it destroyed I think it took a hit from something and the engine keeps noiseless and strong.
Only time will tell.
