Ford has announced this is the last production year for GT350. No more flat plane crank naturally aspirated Voodoo manual shift best ever Mustang in history. This GT350/R may very well be the last of its kind more sought after than GT500 in the future for its manual transmission and engine. To be honest I've been waiting for this day to come and happy that I got one. I can only imagine the value of this car, especially with low mileage, going up year after year. Any thoughts?

I wouldn’t expect to make money but I think the 2020 R’s will hold their value well if they are well cared for and kept original.

I didn’t plan on buying one this year but I was motivated by the same reasons you were.

No.

The car will always be desirable, but not rare, with over 20,000 made during its 6 year run.

I suspect these vehicles will hold their values similar to the recent Boss and 03/04 Cobra models. 2019+ GT350s, and 2020 GT350R will likely be the most sort after due to their updates. Recent used prices have been creeping up.

They will hold their value in my opinion. BUT, I hope it doesn't turn into another terminator situation years down the line. Some guys are asking silly money for those almost 20 years later.

An unmolested Terminator is a rarity tho. Modded...pass.

This is why i leave my cars stock.
I have left my R stock with the exception of window tint and it will stay that way.

I do remember that last of the 2004 Cobras sitting on lots and selling under MSRP, though...and they were plenty popular. I've been shopping 2020 Rs and dealers are quick to let you know that this is the last year...but the one I've been shopping hardest has been sitting there for 2 weeks at MSRP.
Quote direct from a dealer:
We are asking $10000 over MSRP. This is the last year for the Shelby GT350 and the "R" may be a real collector Shelby. Please let us know if you'd like to move forward.

I have window tint as well, mudflaps, and a set of jacking rails. Stuff like that I don’t consider modifying a car, it’s easy to takeoff and it doesn’t make any permanent changes. On my old Mustang cobra did some things like a cat back exhaust and a shifter. stuff that could be easily put back to stock with minimal effort. Not only does it cost money to buy aftermarket parts and it lowers the value of the car but Ford is really getting picky with their warranty claims now and they really check into if the car has any modifications on it. Now more than ever they’re always looking for a reason to deny warranty claims.

OEM replacement parts will become more costly. Same thing happened to the Viper.

A lot of guys thought the same thing when the boss 302 ended production back in 2013 only for them to tank in value because of the gt350. So unless Ford comes out with a true next gen high hp N/A engine i wouldn’t lose sleep over it

Or impossible to find...ever look for stanchion seals for a Gen 2 GTS? Or a windshield? It's ridiculous and one of the reasons I rarely drive mine anymore.

I worked at a Ford Dealership back then. We had 6 new Termi ragtops sitting there for $29,999. Can't recall MSRP.
