So I was driving through a storm when I see someone fly by me, hit a patch of standing water, and fucking loose it. I braked hard and steered away (wasn't going very quick) and missed....but kissed the curb with the right wheels....and this crummy town has square cut curbs so they chewed the lips of the wheels.

Question: are the wheels painted or powdercoated? And should I be able to sand down the roughed up area and smooth the metal, then paint over? They didn't sustain a hit, just a light scuff. If I had sidewall on the tires they would have taken all of it.

The wheels to my knowledge are painted.

You can sand it down and touch it up easily.

Ford dealer likely had proper paint code, I assume?

maybe, or just some regular black touch up from autozone or pepboys can do the trick also.

Works for me. Just wanted to be sure it wasn't something I was oversimplifying
