An Ecoboost is about 870 every six months around here, while a GT is around 13-1400. Michigan insurance sucks.
Throwing this out there. In 95' I moved to Atlanta from Texas. I was 25 and had a 94' Cobra. My insurance went to $2160 every six months. I ended up parting ways with the Cobra due to insurance. Mind you that rate was almost 20 years ago. 13-1400 doesn't sound all that bad.

For my 2011 Taurus, I pay 375 through State Farm, and Allstate wanted 1400. I have no clue why they want so fucking much.

The price difference between the ecoboost and the aforementioned premium on insurance makes it so that even though I could afford it, I couldn't really invest into the car with much financial responsibility. That being said, 2160 every six months is beyond ridiculous.

Upgrading to third party cat-back exhaust, average gains 20 HP/47 TQ, average price $1300
Cold Air Intake, average gains, 13 HP, 25 TQ, average price $399
Custom Tune, average gains, 20 HP, 75 TQ, average price $399

Final overall performance: 363 HP, 467 TQ
Total price parts, approx: $2099
Total cost labor approx $200-400

At lot cheaper than $7000 for GT.

:clap2:
those are some very optimistic gains for intake and exhaust on a 4 even if it is turbocharged

For the torque id be a little more conservative and say 20 or so.

In the n54 world a cat back gets you prettier sounds. That is it. Replace the dp with a catless one and then you are talking.

Also, in some areas, Premium is not much more expensive than regular. In Hawaii, where gas right now is still over $4/gallon average, premium is like 30 cents more expensive than regular.
That is because we only have 92 octane :(. Aloha from Tripler btw.
