So i plan on ordering a new 18 next month. I test drove a 6mt and a 10 speed back to back. I have always been a 6 speed person but holy shit the 10 speed hauls . I may convert. Anyone else converting from stick to the auto and why?

Im perfectly capable of rowing my own still I'm just really impressed for a stock auto mustang to be that quick

Yes going for the A10 too as it will be my DD (but still keep a manual Lotus toy)

I would make the switch over if I ever upgrade to a 2018. I like the 6R80 as well, but I wouldn't give up the 6MT for it. I would switch over to the A10 though.

Ya I was dead set on a 6 speed but damn the auto . And damn that active exhaust I have never heard a stock mustang sound so good. Almost don’t need to change

I went with the A10 due to highway rpm after driving a '17 PP M6 (3.73) and a '17 auto with 3.55. The two 17's both felt like they were spun too high in top gear at 75-80mph. My A10 PP1 cruises as nicely at low rpm as my '16 SHO did.

If I was making money racing auto. I drive my car for the experience. Part of that is shifting so I stick w manual gear boxes. This is my "fun car / date night" ride. My DD is an auto and I have no regrets with either. Only you can decide what's right for you.

Yup, the A10 is the business. My only complaint is the gear hunting. I've been in three auto 18's so far, and every single one of them hunts to the point of being annoying. I had three other people take the same cars for a spin just to see if it wasn't my driving style. Nope. They ran into the same thing.

After 9 years dealing with the high pedal pressure and chatter of the dual disc ceramic clutch in my Shelby, I am all over a 10 speed auto.

I preferred the fun and control of manual transmissions for performance driving for many decades and the convenience and ability to concentrate on things besides "what gear do I need to be in" of an automatic for real world driving.

After 4 manual and 2 automatic Mustang GT's starting in 1969 I can finally get an automatic which does everything I want for "fun" and "convenience" and comes with the suspension version I want. So my 7th Mustang GT will be a GTPP with 10A. Plus, thanks to the 301A option this year I can get cloth seats and the other performance (MagneRide) and luxury items I want (Sync 3, dual zone A/C, Nav, and MagneRide for comfort).:D

The '07-'09 Shelby cars had a "tractor clutch" IMO. Heaviest clutch I've ever experienced, and one of the things I really disliked about my '09.

The current M6 clutches are much lighter, esp. the GT350 clutch.

This was my experience too... but seems to do it more in sport mode than normal. I think sport is designed to keep the pedal down...

I converted from manual to auto and 10 months later regretted it and traded it back in for a manual.
