Saw this YT vid and was a little weary of the ride after he stated the temps were ~40*...

I've done it, the car has little grip and will easily let go.

He was hardly pushing it and in any event the road surface was likely much higher than 40F ambient.

Did I miss something? Was there a sketch moment in there? Sorry, not interested in watching 21 minutes of on ramps and off ramps. This video told me nothing about sc2s at 45*???

I've driven mine before getting the second set of wheels on mid to high 30's all the way to Portland and back from Boston... not an issue. Just take it easy.

Most low TW summer tires will feel squirrelly in low temps, but once you put some heat in them they do fine. The P zeroes acted the same way below 40. So do racing tires and brakes at even higher temps. That's why we do the warm up lap.

21 minute video? No way.

Agree with the above posts.
Now, once you get into the low ~30s, this is when you have an much higher risk of cracking sidewalls, and/or the treadface.

I’ve tracked Cup2s in mid thirties before. It was totally fine. Just need to get some heat in them. If you’re driving hard enough on the street to break cup2s loose in any weather but a torrential down pour or blizzard, I’d recommend slowing down and adjusting your driving habits. I’m always shocked at how people get in trouble on the streets in these cars. So much mechanical grip...you have to be doing something stupid. And for the love of god, keep traction control on while street driving.

And that makes perfect since.
