Just polished off 2 megathrusts and 2 shots of tequila over a porkchop, mash potatoes and green beans.

A nice ending to a crazy work week.

a pinch of dark cherry
(none of that bleached maraschino crap)
a hint of orange peel
(not too much)
a splash of simple sugar
(or dark cherry juice)
a couple drops of bitters
(pick your fav)
a jigger of Makers Mark
(two jiggers not frowned upon)
and a huge clear ice cube*
(get them Walmart ice cube trays outta here)

…makes an AMAZING Old Fashioned


*if you don’t know clear ice, buy a small igloo cooler, rip the top off, fill it halfway with tap water and put said igloo cooler in the freezer for a day or two.

tap water will freeze clear from the top down, but not from the sides inward, like an ice cube tray.

after a couple days, remove igloo, flip upside down in sink and tap the bottom until block slides out.

then get a big knife and chop until you get the size that fits your glass…don’t ask me to explain it, but it works!

I've been living off of fancy down town DC hotels breakfast and lunch and diner spreads for the last few days.

I can cook better: for a smaller group...

One of our meetings this week was at "The W"

Apparently it was a Marriot up until a couple weeks ago. A very sudden change in ownership happened and now it's "The Hotel Wasington"

Much headache for our event planners.

My tech was ready to deploy, in any event, and it worked splendidly.

I liked the post for its uniqueness. That said, those olives turn my stomach.

There are few things I just can't stand to eat; raw tomatoes, mushrooms because of the texture, and olives. I fucking hate olives. Love olive oil, can not stand any other form of olive; taste, texture all of it. Hate hate hate.
