Drag pack options

I'm putting together a list of possible options for my 2015 GT PP1...

Racestar Recluse:

Question is.... will the 5 inch wide wheels clear brembos? If not ,what are my options?

Both sets of wheels look great, but I'm leaning toward the recluse because they are cheaper, and I dont see them on as many setups...

Also, do I need to go with a MT front runner or would just a skinny tire 255/35/18 work just as well..?

I'm going with 18s for now since I got a good deal on MT SS 305/35/18 for my rear

I have Forgestar 18X5 fronts with ET Front Runners on them and 17X10 rears. There are no issues with clearing the Brembos.

You're NOT fitting 255's on these wheels. Those are designed for 9" wide wheels, not 5". I have a new pair of Front Recluse wheels with 28" tires that I can't use because I have drag springs in front which lower the car, and will rub the fenders. I don't want to put the stock springs back in. Not sure about Brembos.

I was going to comment on the lug nuts. It’s been so long since I’ve had those wheels that I don’t remember what the exact issue was. I do know that I didn’t care for something regarding the lug nuts though.

Already picked up a pair of Racestar Recluse 18x10.5 cause they were $100 each including shipping... just deciding if i want to do fronts to match, or do a mismatching set....
What makes the lug nuts such a pain?

For one thing, the tech inspector will question not being able to see stud threads if you want to drag race it. Also, the washers distort and get gouges in them. I'm trying some higher quality lug washers now.

You’re right, extended studs are the way to go. I had some on order through Steeda for over 90 days and finally canceled the order because no one had them (including ARP). I pressed my factory studs back into the rear hubs and called it a day. On the two test-n-tune track days that I attended, I took the necessary tools to r&r a lug and torque them back down after tech. It turned out that tech didn’t even inquire about it. I think would definitely check during a sanctioned event though.

The 18x5 setups will clear the front Brembo's. Hit me up and I can get you hooked up. Have plenty of options in stock ready to go along with tires. Forgestar, VMS, Racestar and Weld (Flow Formed and RT-S).

JMO, but I would match the set. The recluse is a good lookin wheel. Not the lightest option, but one of the best lookin imo.

Yea, I have never used skinnies..I don't like the idea of daily driving it with only a 6 inch contact patch.... trying to figure out how to get the set to work... don't want to change brakes... maybe have to grind down the caliper some. Idk
