I have a 2019 Mustang GT PP2 wiht a gen 3 Coyote V8. After 5.5 months, I have only driven 2500 miles. My last oil change was about 1100 miles. this was the car's first oil change. I pulled the dipstick out and did not see a reading on the stick. I decided to drain the oil and use an old 5 quart container to measure the amount of oil in the engine. I measure only 8.75 quarts. OK , the filter has about 1/4 quart or so. At best, I am burning at least 1 quart in 1400 miles. This car was gently broken in. No RPM over 3K for the first 600 miles. No RPM over 4500 until 1, 000 miles. I added about 1/2 a quart and it is now just above the lower hole and about 20% up the stick. Seems to need much more.

Should I be concerned?

I'd get a fresh 10 quart fill in there and keep an eye on it. 10 quarts puts me right in the middle of the hash marks and when I change my oil I'm still right there give or take a hair. For reference, I've got 26,000 miles on my 19' already. I change oil about every 4-5k. It's always been consistent.

If you had it changed at the dealership most likely they only put 8 qts in it. Lol
I had mine changed at the dealership for the first time last week. Told them when I walked in I told them the car takes 10qts. They said we got this. Tell my car is ready so ask how many qts did the put in it. Guy says 8 it said full on the stick .I looked at him and said no way. He then proceeds to tell me some take 8qts some take 10. I told him I'm checking my oil before I leave and will be back for the last 2 qts to complete my oil change.
I pull the dipstick and not one drop on it. I carry it back inside and show them . They start to apologize and added the 2 qts at no charge. I look at him and ask him how many 18+ mustang's are running around our area low on oil and proceded to educate them as to why the 18+ gets 10 qts instead of 8. Lol

I did have it changed at the dealership and they put in 8 qts. I came back 34 miles later and had them redo the change and this time I checked it in the lot before leaving to make sure they put 10 qts.

Since I do not drive more than 5,000 a year, I change the oil every 4 months. Excessive I know. Oil is cheap. Engine repairs are expensive.

Mine has used about 1/2 QT every 1K since new. It's almost to 12K now and still uses about 1/2 QT every 1K. I chalked it up to normal consumption.

Mine looks like it burns about a quart in 3500 miles also!!:like:

When I bought it the dealer had serviced it to sell as......."Certified Used"....checked oil and found NO OIL ON THE STICK!!:explode:

I added 2 quarts when I saw they only added 8 quarts at the "Certified Used" service.....IDIOTS!!:curse:

That happened to me on my free dealer oil change as well. Luckily, I checked it once I got to my office about 10mi down the road. Quickly tossed in an extra 2 quarts.

Just checked mine after 2000 miles - it does not look to have dropped at all, but i will be keeping an eye on it. Ill have a better idea once i change the oil this weekend and add an oil separator.

I changed my oil at 1,000 miles and now it has 3,300 miles. I had just checked the oil and it was registering on the dipstick right at the first hole or first hash mark. I added a half a quart of Motorcraft full syn. 5w 30 and now it's right at the halfway mark. I guess I'm burning a half quart every 2,000 miles. I'll just keep an eye on it.
