Does "sport mode" change anything at all besides steering feel?

pretty sure OP was talking about "Sport" steering feel instead of "Normal" or "Comfort"

Yes I am aware dumping the clutch, or hard launching ~4k will spin the tires, but the engine just doesn't make enough low end torque to spin the tires after being fully engaged in 1st gear (coasting) at any RPM, and going WOT. TCS on or off (long press) makes no difference here. Even my 260hp 99 GT could spin the tires at the top of 1st gear. Maybe something like a JMS pedalmax would help, but I'm not spending $300 for something that simply opens the throttle blade faster.

051A package gives me 18" Goodyear Eagle F1's. Maybe that's part of the problem (too sticky).
JMS PedalMAX is only $119.00 and works very well with the 93 tuner.

Youd be better off spendjng tye 100 bucks and getting the mpt tune. Coming from somebofy who has tried the unleashed and bama...its worth the 100 bucks. So much more responsive and torquey around town at partial throttle

Pretty sure he's looking for one you quoted at $119, not the linked one you and I provided for $289
Sorry, guys it seams that JMS has discontuned the PedalMAX by it's self. They only have kits. I got mine over a year ago when they were just starting.

For autos... Drive the car in S, not D... Way faster. Will still shift gears for you automatically.
