The dealer told me Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) doesn't works for manual transmission. it wouldn't help drive slow down or stop the vehicle. It would only alarm and pre-charge the break. He said that it is what his trainer man told him. Is it true?

That would make sense, with a manual transmission car.

What part doesn't sound true to you?

Ford do not mention that some function in Safe&Smart pack would not fit manual.

And I hope AEB would works for manual...

That's too bad. But will it alarm driver need to break? and is any other function in Safe&Smart pack don't work too?

Do you really need your car to tell you to hit the brake?

I don't know about the newest system in the 2018 but I know a few other new cars with this tech and a manual transmission will still slam the brakes and if the car comes to a stop it'll just stall. Still better than rear ending someone if you don't hit your brakes fast enough for some reason.

Never worked? It might just be circumstance. But I would never try on purpose.

I've been keeping mine on high sensitivity just for curiosity.

I have had it fire off twice now. Once was when I got cut off. Another time it activated when I couldn't see anything. Then the car in front of me slammed his brakes on hard. I had already slowed down some while I was trying to figure out why the alert was going off.

I don't know if it actually braked on it's own but the assist was nice.

Adaptive cruise control both down shifts and brakes down to 12 MPH.

Pay attention. No need for the AEB. Got an auto braking system in the vehicle I got from work. Guess what, I tested it one time. It worked. However, never needed it to work on the roads. I pay attention.

I got cheap Hyundai Elantra as a daily driver that had it and it is extremely unsettling - I turned it off after it started braking for me once and I was not even remotely close to hitting anything.

Lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control is one of the best safety features of all times, it makes a commute so relaxing. I use it all the time on the other two cars we have, Subaru outback, and Hyundai Ionic my comuter...I wish I had it in my base 2015 pp...
It could save you from an accident for sure!

Put your phone down, and pay attention to the road. I've never had a car with automatic braking, and have never needed it. But I'm one of those crazy people who uses both hands on the steering wheel, and looks at where I'm going.
