Does anyone know if you can swap a Gen 3 transmission with a Gen 2? I know you may also have to change the clutch to a gen 2 as well??

I want to change my Gen 3 transmission to a Gen 2 transmission. I know I will also have to replace my clutch to a gen 2. Will a gen 2 fit on a gen 3 motor?

If it’s gearing related I’d go 4.09’s in the rear be cheaper too. I can’t answer the actual question but I believe it was not a straight swap since there was an extra connection on the D4 that the gen 2 trans doesn’t have. Can’t recall exactly. Maybe the rev matching thing.

I’ve seen a YouTube video where some guy might have done this swap, not 100% sure, tried commenting however never got a response back. I was thinking maybe a gen 2 Ben Calimer stage 1 transmission on a gen 3 might work? Again not sure. But thank you for the reply!

I honestly don't know. I know the 18 up have rev matching and this is another plug on the tranny. It may work fine with a MIL or it may go into limp mode.

You will need a tune regardless due to the different gear ratios. I'd call Ben Calimer and ask him.

Nope. The 2019 transmission has a black box with a 6 pin connector on the upper left side that goes to the PCM. Without that a lot of things will not work.
