Is rhat that orange 500 capable of 9.7 on a radial?

Wrong and wrong. I made bo assertion to any goals, an observation of a magnificent trapspeed

And no, ET does not turn on the win light. Is this your first week of racing?

The reason the GT500 lost is because of the track prep. Granted it would be better if he had drag radials.

Demon is king at the drag strip in the muscle /pony car world.
I thought the track prep was pretty good, the Demom had a 1.39 Sixty Foot.
I know the Demon had a drag radial.

It was decent.
Also the Demon has a very experienced driver.
The modded GT500 is a way way faster car but it is not doing a good job of transferring that power to the 1/4 mile.
In a roll race it would gap the Demon like crazy.
The modded GT500 is about 1000 crank hp

The demon is king of the 1/4 mile, this demon was a full interior car, with Herman driving this Demon weighed 4600+ He still ran a 9.9 with just some aftermarket wheels and tires. The demon makes around 840 at the crank, this gt500 makes 887 at the wheels and has gone 9.7 demons on the 840 tune have gone 9.5s GT500 was not set up from Ford to compete with the demon on a drag strip.

On a drag radial maybe, those r888 are not as good on the strip, i havent seen any good results from muscle cars on my local track with them
Not maybe, on a radial it does, and has

It did the 9.7 on the triple 8s
No it didnt
It wasnt the track prep, it was the tire selection on the mustangs
And prep. Ive gone 1.62 on r888. When doing a private rental, your paying for excellent prep, they did not get it

So modified vs modified, ford needed beyyer radials.or better prep. Easy.
Since the cars went 9s in about 1/10th the time it too for a demon to, thats not bad.. and it will get better once we A-Control tcm, and B -real drag radials..
Same power, same tire, its gonna get freightrained et and mph wise

Has any Shelbygt500 member tried the MT Drag Radials R and if so what were the results?
I have them on my 2017 Whipple Mustang and they work great.

you would need to be more specific. only 3 possible tires are offered in 20", MT S/S, r888 and 555r- and no one has tried a smaller wheel yet. my 18s will be here in the next 2 weeks i hope, they will get 325/35/18 Et Street R

PBD Blue and PBD Orange car have done their best ET's on the STOCK WHEEL and MT ET Street S/S.

I will be more specific,I run Mickey Thompson ET Street P305/45R/17 R on Weld Racing 17X10 rear wheels($550.00 per wheel) on my mustang and that combo works.I think you guys will need to go a similar route and remove those big ass rear factory brakes to get that HP to the ground.Just Saying

I cut 1.4s on an 18 inch wheel & 325-35 ET Street R's. What ever size wheel fits over the factory brakes is what I would go with.

S550 stangs have gone 8s on 20" MT's.. no need to swap them out. mid/low 9 sec gt500s and still roadcourse killer is possible, and why you dont get a drag only car when you grow up :)

I had a few drag only cars. When I was grown up. An 8 second fox and a low 9 second 95gt. Now Im just old and dont care to deal with all that comes with those type of cars. Strapping them down. Having to own a giant truck to haul a trailer. Actually hauling a trailer sucks. The constant wrenching on a drag only car. I prefer to just drive to the strip and beat up on 100k muscle cars now. Cars have gone 8s on 20s. But that doesn't mean its the optimal set up.

wasnt really directed to you :)

yes, not optimal for a drag car, but thats the balance, its not a drag car, its a street car that can do it all, hence leaving the $8k brakes alone lol
