Just ordered a carbon fiber spoiler from Lethal Performance

I've read you should wax carbon fiber with a UV inhibiting wax? Since when? I always thought the point of carbon fiber was that it's more durable then almost everything else.

I plan to leave it naked / not painted. And normally I use Chemical Guys Black Light polish / butter wet wax.

Any recommendations to protect it? Anything formulated specifically for carbon fiber ?

It is very durable when you look at it in strength per lb. As far as finish, yes, you will need UV protective wax or other coating applied at normal intervals or it will begin to yellow. That is the nature of the resins when exposed to the sun.

Sounds like Aero 303 would be a good thing to use on it.

And you would be correct. I have a wax base on it, but I use 303 on it when detailing.

I have a carbon fiber hood and wax it regularly(probably once a month) to keep it looking good. This is especially necessary for headlights and taillights too!

I use Meguiar's Wash and Wax with a thick microfiber towel(high gsm) to trap dirt so it doesn't scratch.
