Jmeo - you are 100% correct. Hadn't thought about the revised front suspension maybe locating the hub inwards or outwards more on the 500 vs the 350.

Epiphany - thank you for sharing that information. Very interesting. Again, I am surprised that they are able to run more offset on the 500 and still clear those monster brakes.

nastang87xx - I am as confused as you!

Does anyone know the CFTP offsets? My wheel guy is saying from Ford the rear is 20x11.5 ET 48. This doesnt coincide with 'normal' S550 rear 11.5 offsets i normally see at 55-56. Can anyone confirm? Why would rear offset be less.....unless the entire hub to hub rear cradle is shorter?

Yes that is my confusion if Base rear is 50mm and CFTP is 48mm (per my wheel guy) that means the CFTP wheels stick out 8.3mm (~5/16") more than the Base. Most 11.5 rear wheels for s550 mustang are 56mm which puts them at the same distance outboard as the Base rear. So either the wheels are sticking out more on the CFTP and possibly lots of camber or the rear hub to hub is shorter. I just want to make sure when ordering 11.5 wheels for rear i get the right offset for the GT500 as at that size every mm matters.

@protraxduner : This probably isn't helpful but I just went out and took a measurement.

At the 12 o'clock position of the rear fender, the Cup 2's stick out approximately 8-9mm further than the fender. Perhaps if someone with a Base would take the same measurement, it might tell you something.

Meanwhile, I just spent about half an hour comparing photos of the rear wheels & tires of both cars and it sure looks like they're pretty close but then, 8 millimeters isn't easy to see in a normal "car photo."

My GT350 r-spec wheels @ 11.5" 56et visually have more poke than both base and cftp GT500 vehicles.

Yeah so if your r-spec wheels were 48et they would be sticking out like crazy. I thought 56ET on 11.5 was the 'optimal' offset.

Has anyone mounted GT500 Base wheels on GT350? Will They fit? Seems the rear should be fine but the front is my concern. With the offset differences the GT500 wheel will be inboard 8mm more, 8mm closer to the strut than the 11 inch wheel that come on the GT350r. The Rear will be fine. Question is, is there room in the front....8mm isnt much but only takes a 1mm to cause an issue.

specs:
GT500 F 20X11 32 offset R 20x11 50 offset
GT350 F 19X10.5 30 offset R 19x11 62 offset
GT350R F 19X11 24 offset R 19x11.5 56 offset

I have a 350 now with 11.5 et56 rears and am still wondering if something is different in the 500’s rear suspension dimensions to be able to run et48 without poke.
