So, my overall goal on my Stang is to rev and make power as close to 8000 RPM as possible, and not lose power down low.
I have done a full build before, where I only did exactly what I wanted, and no half-steps, it HAD to be this, or that.
However, with the Stang, I can't deny how easy and cheap it seems to just get an 18 mani, E85, and send it to 8K, although it will fall off a bit before.
Full send: Cobra Jet, Comp 3 NSR, OPG, 47's E85, will likely make over 500 WHP at or beyond 8K. I actually have 1 7/8 LT headers catless, and chose 1 7/8 over 1 3/4, because of use with the higher RPM stuff.
Kind of send - 18 Mani, 47's. Seems to make 450-460-ish. Make rev limit 8K, but may use 7500? And it's so much cheaper than the cost of the full send. Not counting an intake - because both setups need one. The CJ, TB and cams alone are 3K. An 18 is 300. Of course I wouldn't waste cams on an 18 mani. Then the OPG, and their related costs.
But when you look at the numbers, 3500 more bucks for 50-60 WHP, but also maybe an extra 1000 RPM. I won't be happy without 8000 RPM, but I am almost having a hard time with justification...I mean, I can STILL, kinda, sorta pull 8K, apparently with the 18, but it's reaching.
Thoughts?
I can spend the money, that's not an issue. I've told the Ms. that once I build my cars, we can get a bigger house, so I'm freight training these builds on my Stang, and my Evo. I literally don't want unforseen circumstances after a move, keeping these cars stangnating in the garage. I've bought, wheels, suspension, cosmetic, everything but top end engine parts, and a Ngage. So, I can most definitely do a full send.
