Disguised S550 Mustang Spied Testing - New Variant or Refresh?

I'd like to see something more aggressive. My biggest issue with the current Mustang has always been the soft nose design. The rest of it I love, including that wide back end.

I've done countless photoshops on that front end to make it a bit more 'American Muscle' rather than what imo is inspired by Euro-Asian design.

I hope it's a 2017 refresh. I know it'll suck to have a 15/16 and have your car already be slightly outdated, but the Mustang really needs to respond to the Camaro.

It'd be amazing if the Mustang picked up the NPP and MRC for the GT even though I know it's unlikely for 2017—I'd pick those up in a heartbeat though if it did.

We caught this disguised Ruby Red S550 Mustang prototype wearing heavy front and rear camouflage testing near Dearborn and outfitted with light bars front and rear. The camouflage extends to the front/rear fenders and trunk -- pointing to redesigned lights and fascia.

Is this our first glimpse of another S550 variant or an early look at the first mid-model refresh?

Is it me or do the front fenders look a little pulled out like on the GT350 in the third pic down in the OP?

Just a guess from left field...I'm thinking it's some variant of an Ecoboost engine. Im saying that because look at the exhaust. Wouldn't a V8 have a wider tip? Just my guess tho...probly wrong!!!

Seeing as I've seen and heard rumors of Ford discontinuing any V8 option after '17 or '18 could it be a new GT V6 EB under there? Sucks that they're considering scrapping the V8 all together but it seems like the sad future of cars and trucks...

I thought that also...maybe side vents. Similiar to the GT350. Probly not exactly the same, but if true, similar!
