Curious before I try something weird with my wiring if anyone has ever tried to make it so the parking lamps are disabled?
I noticed after seeing my wife drive our Mustang today that at night it looks bizarre with these bright white switchback LEDs lit up, and then right under them these foglights as well. That combined with the fact that we have headlight gills that also light up, as well as our headlights, it would seem that the parking lamps/running lamps are actually totally redundant.
On my 2013 GT this was part of the design, as at night you just saw the headlights on and the DRLs that looked like =O O= (the equal signs) and then behind it they only lit up when the turn signals were used.
vs O \\\ /// O on our cars.
the 2012 Mustang GT didn't have those DRLs so the parking lamps were then lit.
here's some examples... 2012 vs 2013.
I can see the need for the international crowd to have them, as in other markets they don't have the gills.. so they find ways to make the gills work.
we have both, so I want to find a way for the parking lamps to not light up, except for as needed for the turn signal.
