Hey guys I have a 17 GT350 and in the last 2 months have had my oil pan and valve covers both replaced due to leaks. I have gotten the car back and there has been no leaks, it runs and drives fine but I checked my dipstick and it appeared to be low. I just took it back to the dealer and they are saying it’s fine. I would like your guys opinion on this does my dipstick look low to you? Keep in mind this is only after 345 miles of driving.

Just one opinion… but I think it looks fine. New oil is always much harder to gauge position of oil on the dipstick, but this line is where I perceive your oil stops (right in the middle of the 2 dots. … perfect)

The important thing is that you see oil film in the lower hole. The exact reading beyond that usually has to be determined by a licensed tarot reader with a collection of forum members standing around the table sipping brandy.

Sir, I am deeply offended and appalled by this characterization!!!

Everyone knows Mustang forum guys drink beer and bourbon while prognosticating. Brandy is reserved for porche guys ;)

I’m with you bro. Lower hole filled….move on. Learn it. Know it. Live it.

Looks perfect to me. The holes are a guide, as the level should be somewhere in between. But the exact level is so hard to tell, so the holes are the way to judge. No oil in lower hole, you need oil. Oil in top hole, may indicate too much.

Yes seems as if i was little to paranoid after having some leaking issues in the past and getting my oil pan and valve cover done. But now i know thank you for the helpful response đź‘Ť

Mine is a 20, and I change my own oil, so I know exactly how much I put in after a change.
I check my level hot or cold and its always at or very near the top hole. I put in 10 qts and
that what the stick reads. I also let my oil drain until the drips stop. Hope that helps.
I wonder how much the deal actually put in?

I don't like brandy................................... who wants to buy my Cayman?
To quote Jenna Jameson….

“Every girl who’s in porn has daddy issues, but not every girl with daddy issues gets into porn.”

My point being, it’s ok to own a porche but not like brandy…. But all guys who like brandy own a Porche. It’s a proven fact!!

….. or maybe it’s the other way around…. My brain hurts.

I have a 2021 and did my first oil change with it. As mentioned above, I put the recommended amount of oil in it. My dipstick reads as yours does. In fact, I'm relieved to hear the validation from others (as I thought it looked a little low)

My Father-in-Law has been a Brandy Aficionado for over 60 years... his idea of a GREAT car is a 1968 Volvo that still starts and gets to the store and gas station, Zero to sixty........ why?
His idea of car repair is as follows.... and I'm NOT making this up! My mother-in-law solved a car problem when their car would not start: She started hitting everything under the hood with a hammer.... then the car started. She most probably hit a loose battery terminal, upon impact and wa-laa, car was now able to start.
Everytime there was a car issue after that, out came the hammer......................... duh, it worked before!
As far as "every" person who likes brandy owns a Porsche:

My father-in-law may be a fluke, so I can NOT validate the "Busted" part. My father-in-law is NOT a Porsche guy, but he could be a one off, and you are 100% correct with the exception of one person!
