I realize this is the very definition of a First World Problem, but it's been eating at me for a few days now.

My local Ford dealer has two leftover 2019 Bullitts in stock (well, three, but one is black, so...no), with about $5K off sticker. Now with the 0% for 84 months, plus payment assistance, I'm beginning to think about trading in my 2007 Shelby GT500 for the Bullitt.

The Bullitt is newer, with a much nicer interior, independent rear suspension, same 0-60 time (4.4 seconds). I'm also starting to worry about parts availability for the GT500 - it only has 74K miles, and it's been very reliable, and believe it or not still has a FordProtect PremiumCARE ESP good until December 2023 or 118K miles. On the other hand, I'll miss the instant-torque button with the supercharger, along with that awesome whine.

So...I could go either way. I'd love a newer performance car for around $4-500 a month, depending on what I could get for the GT500. I could also try selling the Shelby private party, but I don't want to deal with the headaches.

Am I crazy? I want something fun to drive on the weekends and on long road trips, with maybe the occasional trip to VIR for some road course fun.

I have a 07 Shelby. Regret getting rid of all it. But 0% @ 84 is a no brainer. I had a lot more people trying to run in gun me with my s550 than with my Shelby which was nice. Mainly because I don’t roll or dig race people.

No brainer to me.

If I wanted to get a new car, I'd jump on that!!!!!!!

Your GT500 needs a Whipple 3 liter blower. Then keeping it won't be an issue. You'll get tired of smiling before you get tired of the car.

I was just parked next to a 2009 GT500 the other day, really like that body
I had a slightly similar debate when I was looking at my Bullitt. For me it was the tech and just how awesome of a DD this thing is. The fact that price wise it was near identical to a similarly optioned GT I couldn’t pass it up and I’m glad I did.
If I had bought the Shelby I might be just as happy but, since the day I got my Bullitt I’ve just been too happy to give anything else a second thought.

Well there’s a lot of good reasons to trade up such as better interior, better suspension, more tech and safety features, better performance. The gt500 is a cool car though and easily upgradeable but then again so is a 5.0. Personally if you can keep the gt500 as a collector car and a fun toy you take out on the weekends and still get a new car that would be best but if you can’t keep both I would go for a new car. The option I would personally go for wouldn’t be the Bullitt, I would rather have a GT than a Bullitt if I’m honest I just don’t see anything special about them and if you can get a similar deal for a GT and a supercharger in to the financing I think you’ll be very happy

I agree with wild horse keep the 500 and get the bullitt. The 500 will be worth more than a standard mustang of the same year and so will the bullitt eventually. They are both special editions and they always command more money. In 30 years or so when an S550 is a rare sighting except at car shows you'll be glad you kept the 500 and bought the bullitt

All the dealers in the DFW area told me the 19 Bullitt is NOT included in the 0% for 84 months. Its the GT's and Ecoboost 2019 models only. I would also expect to get more off than 5K. I was quoted 9K off one today but no 0% interest.
