Did GT350 values just get bolstered with the S650 reveal?

I don't agree. Call it what it is, but its not going to be a 350 slayer, at least out of the box. And the R? Eh.... No.

Now I will say that it is an improvement over previous gen GTs, but there seems to be more to it than a Shelby name.

I never called it a 350 slayer. My point is that this car is not much different than the 350 when you look at the stats. The DH comes with Carbon fiber wheel options almost the same hp and suspension components. It's very close to the 350 and has further options to be built as a track car from the factory. The DH is a tune and an intake away from making the same hp as the 350.

When it comes down to purchasing the car I see people all the time compare and make decisions on their purchases based on cost for performance. Hard to justify overpaying for a used car when someone can purchase a new one that's basically the same in terms of performance.

Do you think the "Shelby" models will stick around for the S650?

I guess lap times will tell part of the story whether itā€™s 350 vs DH or SS 1LE vs DH.

Oh - and shout out goes to @shogun32 for finding Ford's secret inspiration of the KIA dash that's in the new S650 (he posted this image over on 7G):

Interesting thought, but I believe the GT350 will never have a basically similar vehicle due to the track capabilities paired with both the Flat Planed Crank and the Tremec manual.

The Dark Horse is just as track capable with the same Tremec transmission. It as the Gen 4 Coyote making 500hp. instead of the voodoo making 526. Outside of the Voodoo the car is the basically the same. IMHO The Dark Horse is replacing the 350 in the performance line. What else is unique outside of the engine and cosmetics?

The sense of superiority all Shelby owners are imbued with the second they become Shelby owners. When I purchased mine from the local automobile repository I suddenly noticed that the plebians driving non-Shelby cars have a foul odour. I immediately started covering my nose with my kerchief when in their presence. Of course sometimes the miasma is so onerous it causes me to drop my monocle. Luckily my butler keeps extras on hand.

Can the changes in the 5.0 in any way effect itā€™s reliability?
Serious question as it has zero history.

Response to my post?
No, the guy that was asking what makes the Shelby better than the Dark Horse. Also Dark Horse sounds really emo. Most owners will probably wear dark lipstick and black nail polish.

I would say thatā€™s a fair question. Probably not enough info out there yet to know exactly how the twin throttle body/ intakes are set up plus any other modifications made to the motor. I donā€™t think Iā€™d buy one in the first year or two until we see what bugs there are

Personally, I think the high-reving Voodoo is way more fun on the track than the Coyote which feels (to me) that it runs out of breadth high up in its (lower than a GT350) rev range.
