Hi guys,

I'm trying to decide on what combo of LTH's and exhaust to go with on my 21' Mustang GT. I don't want an exotic raspy tone, but more of a deep muscle car growl. Loud is fine, and I need to do catted being that PA is awesome and we have dumb emissions standards. I was thinking of Texas Speed with Borla Atak, but if anyone has other suggestions I'm all ears!

Longtube headers paired with a Borla Atak may be too loud for you. You would be better with the Borla S type catback paired with the headers. We sell both of those here at www.lethalperformance.com. Please feel free to give us a call and we can discuss what would be best fit for your application. 561.753.8105

The big block sound you’re looking for will come from an h-pipe. If you have factory active exhaust, I recommend retaining It. Just add the LTH and h-pipe and you’ll be all set.

If you're wanting a deeper old school tone you're going to want an H pipe setup. Any of the X pipe setups will have more rasp to them. The AWE systems sound really good paired with headers as well and they're an H system, along with MBRP.

Catbacks really come down to what you like the sound of the most. Hit me up and I can get you dialed in for sure.

Gotcha, so H-Pipe setups are what I'm after then. I really wanted to retain the active exhaust. My buddy is doing the AWE, but will lose the active system. Also just a mindful note I am supercharging the car.

Plus one on the h pipe. I've gone back and forth on the x- h pipe and the h is deeper. The x has a nice bite to its sound but definitely more rasp. I will say all 3 combos I have tried got lots of compliments regardless of h or x.

Does the MBRP work with Active Exhaust?

Most brands should work with the 2.5” factory active exhaust. The x-pipe is said to make slightly more power than the h-pipe, but if you’re set on a deep tone, then you know what you gotta do.

Just ordered the MBRP with active exhaust from Beefcake Racing. Going to wait until some Texas Speed long tubes come back in stock and that'll be my setup. Thanks for all the input guys it really helped to make my decision!

when you say slightly more, how much more? Also is the H-pipe significantly deeper or should I say is the rasp with the X-pipe + LTH that much noticeable. I ask because I'm currently running an X-pipe and love the sound, about to got LTH + tune, and I really don't need it to be that much more louder. Wondering how much the LTH add to the loudness / rasp/ deep tone if anything?

Not a whole lot more, maybe 2-4 hp. Here is my Bullitt with LTH, Steeda x-pipe and factory active exhaust at full swing, a switch between modes and a drive by, just to give you an idea of the sound.
