One of the nice things about being on base and having access to a certified Tüv (vehicle inspector) with a decibel meter that is calibrated, is that you can get an exhaust reading at the standard 1 meter away at a 45 degree angle from the exhaust tip. So here are my findings with an active exhaust car. (These are all with long tube headers catted/catless and in quiet mode, can’t risk losing my registration for y’all in track mode, sorry)

Exhaust #1
Stainless Power catless long tubes
SR Performance X pipe
Factory Active exhaust.
94.9 decibels at 3000rpm

Exhaust #2
Stainless Power Catless long tubes
Magnaflow Tru-X Resonator (CJPP)
Factory Active exhaust
93.7 decibels at 3000rpm

Exhaust #3
Stainless Power Catted long tubes (400 cell wpprt
Corsa Double X pipe
Factory Active exhaust
94.4 decibels at 3000rpm

Exhaust #4 (Current)
Stainless Power Catted long tubes (200 cell sport cats)
Magnaflow Tru-X resonator
Factory Active exhaust
93.6 decibels at 3000rpm

Exhaust #5 (Not Tüv inspected, just a friend a decibel meter)
Stainless Power Catless long tubes
2x Magnaflow 14419 Resonators behind the H pipe
MBRP Active exhaust catback
97.2 decibels at 3000rpm (not official Tüv reading)

Images of the MBRP catback and headers.
