I'm not sure we're looking at the same thing. I'm looking at the photographs posted in the OP's 1st post, and all of the MSRP's are in the $68K-$69K range and they all look like R's to me. They clearly state GT350R also. Unless I'm missing something here?
Check out the VIN on the number 9 car listed.

Is that not an R model?

;)

PP0001 is correct. the others say GT350R and have one pictured but by VIN they are not Rs

So heres the crazy part. The insider at the Ford plant who works there posted a picture of Chassis JR003. It was a R model. It had a 1FA6P8J prefix. I asked him about it on instagram and he said it was correct

To your point something has in fact changed at Ford with respect to the VIN sequence numbers for the 2018 R models.

It has come to my attention that R models for the 2018MY will have VIN's that start with both "1FATPXXX" and "1FA6PXXX".

It was not clear as to whether Ford will revert back to the "1FATP" VIN sequence for any future R's or whether it will be just a random event going forward but whatever the case we will all find out together.

My apologies to the OP for suggesting the cars that he listed were not 2018 R models when in fact it looks as they are in fact 2018 R models.:thumbsup:

Just another great example of how Ford can change certain parameters from one model year to the next.

Can you order an R in Orange Fury? That would look sick.

Indeed you can. I asked a dealer about the potential of ordering one, and he advised that they would require a hefty non-refundalbe deposit to order a color like this. I totally understand that also, it's a love/hate color for most. But very intriguing.

The only car I'd ever want in Orange would be a Lambo.
