Daytona 24 Hours Event In January

A few years ago, I went to a Daytona 24 hours event and loved it. Having pit passes really enhanced the experience. Now that I am only about a 2 hour drive from Daytona, it is definitely on my late January calendar.

This would be a great opportunity for some Shelby owners to meet, compare cars, stories and perhaps a breakfast/dinner event while watching one of the better international races.

Anyone up for that??

Right now, just have 600 miles on the clock and want to get at least a 1000 miles plus replace factory break-in oil before doing any track time. Guess I could show up with my '16 Audi SQ5 Black Edition! :lol:

Really hoping some folks will want to join us at the Daytona 24 event...

I've only got 700 something on HR361 now. It will have 1000 on the clock by then though. Let me know when you are going to the 24 hours.

OP if you haven't checked out The FIRM in Starke you should do it for your first event. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and one of the instructors is on here with his '15 GT.

Thanks, I am pretty new to the area and just heard about this track about a week ago. I probably will check it out sometime in the next month or two.

The Grassroots motorsports experience is a great thing to do during the 24hr, I used to autocross with some of the GRM guys in central fl years ago and hung out at the track with them

Thanks, that is certainly something to consider once I get over 1000 miles, drop out the break-in oil, and get a few other things done with the car as I become more familiar with it. Once I get on the track, probably start with the previously mentioned local track here in Gainesville, then look at a Daytona event. I have been off the track for some years, and need to get back into it in stages.

Right now, just looking to get a group of like-minded Shelby folks for a more social outing at the Daytona 24 hour event. Since I now live about two hour away, no excuses not to go to this event. I herd a Shelby GT350R-C took its class in 2016 there?

Would be nice to compare cars, exchange information, maybe plan a group breakfast and/or dinner....
