I have used a similar style mount successfully with Harry's Timer app. This one has a rather long arm. Mine has shorter arms. Limits articulation a bit but the longer arm will vibrate more. FWIW. Good luck.

I have that one but I havent used it on the track yet. It seems very sturdy/stable

Which one do you use?

Sorry, but don't recall the brand. It was a few years ago and I did get it from Amazon. Actually tried a couple different, but similar, types. In the end, the one of mine with the shorter arms is what I used to minimize vibration of the phone/image. Next time I am at AMP I will take some pix. I keep most of my fun cars there.

Also, remember to shut off the phone while on track. In one of my first uses of that, my phone went off in a corner and it scared me to death.
