Thats cool man. I dont know where this leaking oil all over the place is coming from but you must have experience with that. I can tell you one thing, my 2018 Mustang in 1 year has thrown multiple CEL for misfire, the transmission is showing problems, the 2k rattle is there no matter cold or hot, the interior is making rattles from 5 different places and the fit and finish is mediocre at best. No, I am not comparing it to a 100k+ car but if you are saying that a BMW would be a worst choice comparatively; at this point the Mustang doesn't seem any better. If I had money to buy a 130K 850 BMW, I would have that and maybe a Porsche too :D a guy can dream
Sold my 11 month old BMW M235i back to BMW due to an intermittent fail in the wiring harness throwing erroneous faults; replaced it with an Orange Fury GT premium -loaded-... waited 15 weeks for delivery and love it. The M235 was quick and fun, but the Mustang GT is a completely different animal.

Well BMW figured if you can't beat Mustang then copy it and try and get in on the sales.

I used to really like BMW, especially the M3, but the only recent model I've liked is the M6 Coupe. They stopped making it in the coupe, though.

front/side is great, i think it will be pretty in person , but the rear is a total mess, so tortured, with the return of the infamous duck tail . they did the same on the new Z4 , I never had thumbs up with my old Z4 , with the Mustang i have smiles applaudes, thumbs , horn, every day. :like:  :sunglasses:

Sorry guys, but how about inform about the 8 series before posting how bad BMW copied the Mustang? The new 8 series is the successor of the 2012 6-series. Here's a comparison between 2012 6-series and 2018 8-series - They have the nearly identical sidelines. If the S550 looks like the 8-series to you, then actually Ford would have copied the older 6-series lines.

But as most people should know, the S550 got it's design heavily inpisred from the Aston Martin DB9 - If I remember correctly the designer of the S550 is related to the designer of the DB9

You know, I've not heard of the Aston Martin influence on the S550 design, but
I have to tell you, every day I look at my GT, I seet it. So much so I've had
visions of putting the Aston Wings decal over the 5.0 Badge.
OK, my shields are up, go for it!

Top one looks like a 2-door Altima.
I was thinking the Accord coupe.

Can’t argue with you on the similarity, there are worse things to look like.

I just read an article that stated the Mustang is the top selling sports car in Europe and outsells the 911 in Germany. Pretty interesting. It also said Camaro is getting a redesign in 2021 and the Challenger is also to try and get into the euro market.

The Mustang definitely is not outselling the 911 in Germany.

I track the new registrted sportscars in Germany for my own webseite, I attach you the graph of registrations and registrations sales since 07.2015 (market start of EU Mustang)

But this is interesting.
Only if you put these numbers totally out of context. Ford is a big player in Europe and has about 650 dealers in Germany where you can buy the Mustang and is marketing the hell out of this car. GM Europe is only selling Camaro, Corvette and some Cadillacs in Europe with about 10 dealers in the whole country.

Even though the Mustang sales are fine (but declining since the refresh), Camaros numbers in Germany are pretty good for the tiny dealer network and no marketing too.

Here are the numbers of the new sportscar registrations in Germany in 2018 (compared to 2017):
Porsche 911: 9.332 (+24,1%)
Mercedes E-Klasse Coupe: 8.062 (+44,0%)
Audi TT: 4.712 (-17,9%)
Ford Mustang: 3.151 (-45,1%)
Mercedes SLK, SLC: 2.878 (-5,8%)
Mercedes AMG GT: 2.284 (+80,3%)
Porsche Boxster: 1.944 (-11,0%)
Porsche Cayman: 1.236 (+4,1%)
Jaguar F-Type: 1.183 (-10,0%)
Chevrolet Camaro: 1.089 (+13,8%)
Audi R8: 654 (-18,6%)
Maserati Ghibli: 505 (-16,3%)
Toyota GT 86: 290 (+9,0%)
Nissan 370Z: 267 (-30,6%)
