Hey guys, I just ordered a Stage 2 Whipple kit for my 10r80. Was interested in beadlocks for the rear as opposed to some regular drag wheels.
(They look so badass, and honestly if there's an added upkeep I have to maintain to keep it in check I'm more than willing)

This is my daily and I'm planning to run Nitto 555R2's regardless if they're beadlocks or not.
I'd just like to get some input from guys that are either already dailying beadlocks or have driven them on the street to see how their experience has been.

Thanks for your time!

You won't slip the tire on the rim just DD. It would be hard to do on a track.

They do look cool and I don't think there would be much issue in DD other than watching curbs, etc. I've driven them on the street, but not on a daily.

Unless I am missing something to be concerned about.

@wumbo5.0, that’s a good question. I will be putting some Beadlocks on my car in the near future and plan to drive them on the streets too. Was wondering the same thing. I have the Forgestar D5s; just waiting to be installed.

You won't have an issue daily driving with a beadlock rear. Do it on my 1300+ HP 2018, even running a 15x10+ wheel no issues. Hit me up and I can get a set on order for you; have tires in stock too for them.

Feel Free to DM me or call with any questions.

With drag radials and non-beadlock vms wheels the tires do move around the rim on the street. They moved on me when I was NA, I never even went to the track. I had to remove the weights because the wheel became unbalanced. This give in this part of the drivetrain may be helping my axles stay alive. I think my tires move about 1/8 -1/4 of an inch on any shift/launch with good traction. It has happened with both MH racemaster tires and also ET street R's, even after I got the shop to dry mount the tires.

OP, you might want to check your local laws first. Some areas do not allow beadlocks on the street. The 4x4 guys run into this issue.

Why would this be a law?
Basically for those who don't install these wheels correctly, the risks involved with that ( a blow out leading to a crash) mainly a D.O.T. thing.

But as far as I know , down here in the south it ain't a thang. Way too many other ticketable offenses (that don't really get enforced) are seen on regular cars each and everyday out here in Miami.

Aside from too low air pressure, what would constitute an improper install of a tire on a Beadlock wheel?

Screws are not torque to spec which over time could perhaps either get damaged or loosen, which then dominos into failure while on the road? Just gathering from what I've read.

I've personally haven't heard of something like this happening in the real world, only articles I've read (which could be based on theory)
