Is this one too big for the street? Disadvantages to running this on basically a stock EB with the Ford tune?

Beautiful piece. To bad this wasn't out 5 months ago. Everyone should definitely consider this when looking for an intercooler. If its anything like the little one it's gonna be amazing.

No disadvantage other than cost vs a smaller one. I have a large fmic and I have no issues at all. I would argue that if you live in a warmer climate you should always get the larger one.

Likewise, this thing is gorgeous for the price!

could this IC be too big for someone with stock turbo ,(untuned as of now) and living in minnesota where car would be driven until its 40 degrees, and frankly it rarely hits 100 here. wasn't there a concern on the focus RS about condensation so they covered part of the IC with some plastic?

Didn't you just post this in the ATM Intercooler Thread? Your question has already been answered these cars will produce plenty of heat where it will not be an issue. IIRC the stock intercooler was meant for a 175HP 1.8L engine and was made purely for cost cutting and not properly sized for the engine. If you don't wan the ATM or CVF race interocolers get the CVF street intercooler and it will still be an upgrade over the garbage stock unit (which is smaller than a 1.6 Fiesta ST IC).

I really like this design versus the stepped designs I’ve seen other manufacturers offer.
