I was driving home a few days ago, and saw an S550 painted.......

Hell, I don't know what color you'd call it. Dark bronze? Baby poop? Metallic.....something-or-other?

It looked decent. Not my style, but it looked good.

And it didn't have any weird graphics or anything, no other wings or scoops or anything. Just a different color.

I'm struggling to get why someone would custom paint a rather standard car. Guess they just wanted that color on their car.

Hey.....maybe it was a wrap??

My wife says she'd do a hot pink chrome rap if I'd pay for it.

No reason to paint when wrap is cheaper and protects your paint when you sell.

Depends. I've seen 1800-2500. The wrap cost is about $500 for the car. I'm going to try and do it myself.

The hardest part is removing all the badges and trim and mirror off the door and fog lights and bumper marker lights. The wrap part is the easiest.

Just to do your door you need to remove door panel and remove the mirror. Then Im not even sure how to go about the door handle.

I'm going to try the hood first. Just need to remove the vents and should be easy.

Holy shit. I can't even get window stickers on evenly ...

It really is an art, I've looked at some wrapped cars up close, and even then it's almost hard to distinguish vs. paint.

There's a guy in town with GT (coupe) that's a light gray color - I want to say it's a little darker than Avalanche from the GT350 - but it looks pretty fantastic, I saw it at a parking garage, drove past pretty close, I'm assuming it's a wrap, but from 8-10 feet away it looked like paint.

If it weren't too rich for me, I wish I could wrap my Mustang this color:

I clear wrapped my doors. Just follow the youtube vids on trim removal and door handle removal. The window switch covers are hard to unclip.
I got stuck for 3 days getting the door handles back on because the mechanism slipped and did not stay in the primed position to accept the door handle back into the door. Difficult to explain but if you need advice then I can assist. You may not have any problem if you're lucky.:)
