I keep getting this wild idea to try something with the OEM catback since it's just sitting in my garage. Don't get me wrong, I love my Borla ATAK GT500 system and I don't intend on replacing it. I also like to play around with exhaust setups to find what I like the best.

Here is what I was thinking of putting together:

This of course would connect right in to the axleback portion after its reduced down. This would also be a true X pipe resonated system with the OEM mufflers which could be quite interesting for someone with headers. It's certainly more expensive than just going with an H-Pipe option but maintains the full 3" system until post muffler/resonator.

I could also customize this to fit to the current Borla ATAK system and clamp it without using the reducer. This would replace the Switchfire section but I think this may be longer overall.

Your car sounds great now, I don't think the sound quality would improve, but the removal of the restriction would be nice.

Yeah, this would just be something to play around with the OEM exhaust, but I may not do it since it's kind of a pain to swap catbacks. I'm not sure this would even make it that much quieter either as I've heard this Stainless Bros. muffler is still pretty loud.

I have heard the same about those mufflers. If I had your set-up, I would leave it alone. Im seriously thinking about that for next years list of goodies. Refresh my memory, did you get a tune for the exhaust mods?

I just got my RTD+ in from Wengerd Performance so I will be tuned here shortly. I've been driving it on the OEM tune with spacers on the rear O2's and I've been CEL free ever since they went on when I got the first CEL within a week of the headers installed.

Good deal, overall no issues while driving? I have an SCT BDX, but it seems like people are breaking away from using them. Good thing, if I decide to sell it, its unmarried. Thanks for the information.

No issues whatsoever. Just a lot louder out back.
