Warm it up and do one hard lap to see. Though it seems that it’s at the end of its life though if you ask me.

I have zero experience of tracking a mustang, but there is zero chance I would gamble based on the look of that

Is it worth the risk of it delaminating ?

@Tomster had a cup 2 partially delaminate at 160 and I reckon that’s the kind of moment you really would want to avoid …

My vote too. Why risk it? If you want to drive it a few miles on the street fine, but track use, no way unless you don't mind the chance your car gets a ride on the flat bed back to the pits. It's a false economy.

I wouldn't use that tire on the street.

Hard to say if it's superficial and you'd burn past that rubber into a good tire again, or it'll keep opening up. I'd warm it up and give it a few laps, but swap the tires dependent upon the course so that it's on the wheel that's not being favored, if the course layout favors a side.

Alll,
I finished out the day (of 2) at Road Atlanta and put down 3 runs in the 1.37.x range. Wore down most it (and new set of oem pads). It appears to be just a small layer of top rubber that has started to delaminate from maybe driving the car on the street it sub 50 degree weather.
I have a call into Tire Rack to see what they can do.
Thanks all!
