My window recently started creaking when lowering it. I've got an appointment with the good local dealership to look at it next week. Any ideas what it is?

I'll try to get a video without the car running to hear it better tomorrow. It seems to get worse when the car is sitting out in the sun while I'm at work.

Had the same problem on my convertible; I just wax the windows inside and out and it goes away. Does comeback occasionally with rain and stuff - I think there's a rubber piece 'rubbing' against the window that folded over. Haven't had the time to take the door panel off and look at it though.

My 2006 and 2016 both did/do this. Even my Bronco does it from time to time. Ford quabity!

It's probably the window regulator. Ford has been making crappy ones for decades.

My 2020 came with a bad driver side one. Made some noises going up and down. I didn't want creaks and rattles so I dealt with it for 3 years. But as warranty end got closer decided to get it fixed. I have some door panel creaks now. 😂

The dealership said they're going to lube up the rail when they're fixing my transmission.

They lubed up my window rails and the noises went away on both sides. The grease smell was pretty strong.

In case anyone else runs into this issue.

My passenger side window makes the clicking sound - will have to try greasing the tracks to see if that alleviates the issue.

I'll try to take a picture of the mechanics write up when I get home. I don't remember if he verbally said it or not but my rails had no grease. And that's true for when I took my door apart to see if anything was binding. Although, I don't remember my 2018's window rails being greased either.
