what tires were those?
Edit: I looked it up. Those would be eagle f1 supercar 3r. See, more to the story. They suck in the wet. If I was driving on those in the wet I'd cut my speed in half.
it's not just the wet, those tires take quite a bit of regular driving to get up to temp in any weather. the difference makes a PS4S seem like a drag radial. SC3R truly doesn't stick to anything until hot. idk how the cup2 is, but that is my experience with the SC3R on the street.

Huh sad to see the state of your car but good to know you are safe.

The PSS don't grip well in little dampness, I can imagine the grip on cup2's.

It's like any other dedicated summer only tires, once up to temp, good to go. If it won't reach temps, take it easy.. especially when it's damp/wet.

both the MP4S and SC3R are listed as summer tires...they are nothing alike. my point is there wasn't more to his story, that's the OEM tire on the ZLE. i am still truly surprised they sell them off the lot in that configuration. i have no experience in an R though, but guessing the road manners are similar.

Yes I have the estimate. Here are some of the parts. I don't feel like copy pasting them all, but i will list the big ones. I will upload video on youtube later going over the estimate and valuation of my car.

Shouldn't the rear wheel be 11.5" not 11"?

body shop said some of the codes they put into the computer were just place holders and will be adjusted according to what is vin specific to the car.

40k just in parts? Then you add in labor and paint...

I'd push for them to total it. Buy a new one.

It’s going to be more than 40k. Add 15k for labor and prep and hazardous material removal. Paints, solvents, masks and filters and other items.

To further emphasize this point.

last summer GM put out a service bulletin. That service bulletin was for the addition of a “supplement to the owner’s manual”. Guess what the supplement covers? It’s a warning letting owners know about the risks that come with the OEM tire on the ZL1 1LE.

Everyone can draw their own conclusions from that.

Your original equipment tires are
optimized for performance in both wet
and dry conditions. We do not
recommend using the original
equipment tires when temperatures
drop to about 45°F (7°C) or below
(depending on tire wear and
environmental conditions) or in snow
and ice conditions.
