Did my first Blackstone oil analysis on the Mustang. Check it out! Testament to the Coyote and Pennz ultra platinum.
7500 mile interval, self tuned on E85. Every time I drive the car it's used to it's potential. Nice to see no fuel dilution with the DI and E85 as well.
I bought the car new and flogged it right out of the dealership for break-in.

Pretty jazzed to see the numbers they're reporting. Very impressed by the apparent durability of the 5.0 and oil...

Are others seeing similar results?

I’ve done 2 myself, one was half and half on 93 and e85… the other all e85… Pennzoil platinum 5w40 euro and I’ve had similar good results, roughly 3k-3.5k miles on those. They want me to go it to 5k miles this time, so I’m gonna try.

We really are fortunate to be in an era where a factory engine is as rev-happy and durable as these are.
12:1 compression and 500hp was a high performance NA build just a few decades ago.
I remember a co-worker of mine bragging he had a "high compression, 550hp 427" in the early 2000s. That high compression 427 was.... 12:1 lol.
Every time I drive this car it impresses me. Such a bargain...

Love these engines. My Gen 1 Coyote, got it brand new and put 130K miles on it. Here is the results at 120K changing oil every 10K (per recommendation). Motorcraft synthetic blend. And yes the baby ticked from day one 0 issues.

First Blackstone Oil analysis @ 61.250
I'm a seasonal oil changer 7-10 thousand mile. The car has been driven as it was intended be driven from Day 1.

I almost forgot I had a couple blackstone kits hiding in my spare room. I’m due for my first oil change next weekend, guess I’ll find a kit and see what’s going on.

Tell me you aren't using water thin 0W16 in your coyote? jeezus the 5W20 is already proven too thin for correct boundary layer high sheer protection in the coyote.
What proves that?

According the the analysis it did fine.

No offense bud but one Blackstone analysis is not going to show anything. The wear takes place over time and several thousand miles. If you daily commute with your Coyote and never run it hard, sure you'll likely be just fine but 95% of Mustang owners beat these things and track them. Hence the reason even Ford themselves got away from the 5W20 recommendation on all and went to 5W30 for normal driving and 5W50 any track use. Thin oils are STRICTLY for CAFE/Fleet economy fuel savings, they were NOT designed for engine longevity or reduced wear.

Ford still recommends 5W20 for 15-20 Coyote mustangs. You specifically said "proven too thin for correct boundary layer high sheer protection in the coyote." That's very specific yet you can't tell me where your source of this is.
From the oil analysis that I have done already a few different weights they all come back great.
Then I also log and check to see if the VCT solenoid duty cycle is much different, and on all the different weights I've used it doesn't change.

I'm not saying any is better or worse than what Ford recommends. Many people seem to be sold on high weights performing miraculously better than lower weights.

Why did you choose 0w-16 over 5w-20? Just curious?
