The convertible specific systems are 2.75" tubing, unlike the coupe which is in the 3". The systems are available in Touring, Sport and XTREME.​

Any reason why the diameter in the convertible is smaller?

Most of the system and the Mufflers are still 3", they just had to reduce to 2.75" in some areas to help them navigate around bracing and maintain the rest of the standards they provide with the Kit such as Flow, Clearance and Sound.
