Iirc honeybadger was going to run this with sensors fitted but removed it. Dont recall if he had a reason. Believe the oil crossover was more verifiable as a benefit for true track rats.

i do wonder if #8 is a product of emissions and then us pushing things beyond what was designed. in stock form #8 is trimmed to run leaner than the rest near redline, about 5% less than #4. only tune from Ford ive seen this imbalance zeroed out on is the voodoo and cobrajet and some early roush/whipple blowers (not ford tune)

Interesting.

We've already established that there's a physical disparity between 4 and 8 (with the coolant channel and location of the CHT sensor).

The question then becomes, does Ford use the worst case cylinder condition and apply everywhere (leaving some power on the table) or simply run the risk that #8 is slightly warmer than the others.

I suspect the cooling mod helps more in giving the CHT closer readings to what's going on in #8 than any "cooling" benefit. If there's an 8 degree delta between the two and by exchanging it brings #4 up 3 degrees and #8 down 3 degrees, the benefit is probably more that there's only a 2 degree delta than it is that it cooled #8 down 3 degrees.

@Angrey could see that. Testing would just be seeing if there is any difference in cht for a similar drive/ conditions.

I’m wondering if I should do this while my intake manifold and tranny are out of the car. I have access to the freeze plugs. I’m not making a bunch of power, so I wonder if it’s necessary?

Why not do it? Take a punch or screwdriver and knock those freeze plugs sideways and pull out. Easy install since you already have everything apart.

I did it on my gt350 with the engine in just pulled the manifold and used a ball peen hammer and a pair of needle nose vise grips just know that if you ever have to pull the crankshaft sensor you have to pull the passenger side coolant fitting

That sucks! Is it much easier to get to without the cooling mod?

I’m going to give Cooling and the Head Oiling Mods a go.
here how I did mine I used mmr cooling mod and single oil balance line and put an oil pressure sensor on one head and an oil temp sensor on the other head you can see where the crank sensor plug is right under the coolant fitting

I honestly don't see how any flow can happen between the heads with this mod. Looks like the tube will fill up and the water in it will stagnate.

Put a tee in the tube and run it to the water pump input or heater core and it would work. As is I have a hard time seeing it do anything.

My thinking is; there is a high pressure area at the rear of both heads. So there can be no flow from one to the other.

it would move if the pressures aren’t equal like one side is higher than the other but I’m not sure how it’s suppose to work.

Kit has been ordered. I didn’t realize that while the different year Coyote heads all have the freeze plugs in the same vicinity, there are some differences In that pre 2018 has threaded holes to,secure the MMR Cooling Mod stand-offs, but my 2019 Bullitt has no threaded hole on the passenger side. MMR does have specific part numbers for the different year vehicles, but I‘m wondering how the passenger side will be secured without the threaded hole? In addition to that, where is everyone relocating the ground strap to on the driver’s side head?

I normally despise teflon tape. But trust me, use COPIOUS amounts of teflon tape for the fittings threads. Trying to reinstall even the AN fittings after everything is in place is a TRUCKERMOTHER.
