Just a thought as I know in theory I want to hand wash the new baby all the time, but I know me. There is no way in hell I have the time. Are the softtops okay in a regular car wash or am I stuck with the wand washing from now on? More than likely I will just take it to a detail shop.

car washes are evil places that exist to put scratches in your car.

Car washes are how you're supposed to check convertiblesfor water leaks. Agreed, the top is not a problem butte paint is another story

I've taken my vert thru a car wash several times. No issues at all with leakage while I still had the original top. The replacement leaks above the drivers door now, not bad but noticeable.

I am, admittedly, a barbarian. In the cold months, I take my convertible through a soft-cloth car wash with no problems. I used to have them shut off the center blower because of the way it shook the rear window, but I not longer do that and I have not had any issues.

Question, can the small rubbery antenna on the rear quarter panel be unscrewed prior to running it through a car wash? Have always hand washed with a foam cannon, but with medical issues right now, I’m tempted to go through a car wash.

Yes it unscrews easily. Grab the narrower part of the rubber base below the metal antenna whip (not the wider base directly on top of the fender) and turn it counterclockwise.

I know you did not ask this, but I will tell you that I have never had any problems with the factory shorty antenna going through a soft-cloth car wash.

Hey good to know. So no problems with the soft top either?
