So sick of not being able to take a normal vacation this year. Considering driving the Stang from the Chicago suburbs, to Seattle. That's what these cars are for right? Never been in North Dakota, Montana, or Washington state before. Any must do attractions along the way?

Might suggest RT 80 into Salt Lake City. Visit the State and National parks in Utah. An amazing state. Then RT's 84, 82 & 90 into Seattle. You can always do RT's 90 & 94 on the way back. That would be a killer trip.

I have traveled I-80 many times. Last time was when I took my son to college. Drove a Sunburst orange HHR panel. Made it 1,360 miles the first day. Since I'll have my wife with this time, we are shooting for at least 800 miles the first day. Driving the Mustang should be a fun trip.

OP is in Chicago, pretty sure he probably knows how to protect himself. Many of the protests/riots are happening in certain places and not throughout an entire city.

Better yet, drive to the Blue Ridge Mountains. They are closer to you and have endless amounts of curvy roads for you to enjoy in the Stang.

We were there in September. Going through the Northwest will click 4 more states off the list for me, and 5 more for my wife.

Enjoy it! I've made the Chicago/Merrillville/Milwaukee area to Georgia trip many times in the Mustang. Great traveling car.

Great advice...carry a spare tire to avoid a really bad experience in no man's land.

Haven't figured out our stops yet, but will be starting just west of Chicago, going to Bismarck ND the first day. Second day continue to Coeur d'Alene ID. 3rd day travel up through North Cascades National park, and down to Seattle. I have 1 day to spend in Seattle, and 1 in Portland. Then drive to Boise area and stay overnight. Boise to Sidney NE day 2 of the return, and Sidney to River Grove IL. day 3 of return. We will have 1 extra day for sight seeing, or planning other things as this will be a 9 day trip.
