After reading through this entire thread... I began to question myself, and gave in to the peer pressure.

I decided you guys are probably right................. I stated pulling off the decals.

I think I made a huge mistake:

It looks like a whole different car now.
But on the positive side, it also weighs less and I can feel the acceleration difference.

Good think there are apparently no mounting holes under the fender logos. Car looks good de-badged and de-striped.
Soooo jealous that I can't go badgeless on my '15 fenders because of those stupid holes.... :crying:

I’ve got a FJG Mach and have been considering removing only the hood decal which still hasn’t grown on me yet. Won’t make that decision until I do PPF because they have to take it off anyways and put back on over the film if I want to keep it. Unsure and wife is saying leave it alone so…
'BossPapa'? Just going by your last sentence, perhaps SHE is the actual 'Boss?' 🤷🏽‍♂️😁

That’s way too funny…except my first new car in high school was a 1974.Mach 1 just like this that my father made me buy instead of a 1973 because of the gas crisis. Big mistake and lesson learned because I buy whatever cars I like now and don’t listen to anyone elses opinion. Great post and very creative!!

CDC does make a kit….of course no carb so not sure any real benefit…but of you want the look, there is a path.

https://classicdesignconcepts.com/2021-22-mustang-mach-1-shaker-system
The last time a Mach 1 came with a shaker hood, 2003-2004, there was no benefit then, either.
It was part of a convoluted system that still got most of the air from the fender, the same as the GT and the 2002 Cobra. The 4.6L DOHC Mach 1 had wasn't rated any higher than the 2002 Cobra, so the shaker hood was mostly just more parts and some dead weight, for the sake of the look and the claim that it was functional.

I didn't hate it (I tried to buy one in 2006, but the seller wanted about 1.4x what it was worth) but I started thinking "If I remove the dead weight, what can I do with the hole in the hood?"
I wanted to put a louvered vent in its place.

My guy left it on and cut the PPF around it. I would like to take the mat off and leave the gloss black out line with the MACH 1 decal. Not sure it is one piece?

When you get around to it please post an update. I want to trade my 2015 Ecoboost for a Mach1. Your pix got me hyped! lol
Some I took today. Washed her yesterday and shes dusty already… Its cloudy and getting ready to storm so she looks black instead of purple. Id have to pick another day to get shiny purple/blue pics.

Dont mind Buford in the background there. Hes a 2019 F250 6.2 Lariat. Marie isnt intimidated though!

This one was for sale recently on CG. I like the look clean like that.

Was there any issues removing the decals? Shadowing or fade etc? Residue? Or did they just peel right off???
On a warm, Florida day, my decals peeled off so easily I was kind of shocked. Took two minutes to pull them all off. Zero residue left behind
