I had a 2015 C7 and sold it after two torque converter failures in the A8 transmission. I intended to purchase another C7, with a standard transmission, but have been side tracked by the 350. My local dealer has a used 2017 with almost 15K on it listed for $56K. That's more miles than I put on my C7 in two years, is that an issue for this car? Any guesses what their bottom line might be?

Thanks,

AFAIK most failures have been early. I have well over 18,000 miles on my GT350 and I haven't noticed any wear related concerns yet. $56k seems a little high to me, but I haven't looked for used GT350s. You should be able to negotiate them down a little, I would think.

IMO - Too many miles for that price when you compare other used 17's on the market.

Check out cars.com and you'll find a bunch of 17's with low miles asking a grand or two more... I'm sure you can negotiate an even better deal.

Sounds like a lot. 2017s start at $54,295 - for a used car, I see no reason to add back in the gas guzzler tax and shipping fees - those were already paid for. Throw another $4K for electronics, stripes, painted roof, etc. and that puts the car at $58K. Knock off $8K for high mileage, maybe $50K would be fair?

If the overall condition is good and you really want it get it! 15k miles with no bad maintenance record should be indicative of the engines reliability. However! This is still a new engine and although it may have passed Ford's durability testing it is just now making it through it's paces in the real world. I had a 16 track pack and I love the car but had serious bad luck and went through 1 and then a forthcoming engine replacement. Cuase of failure where no different than any other manufactures engine failures. Nothing to be concerned about as there is no trend in specific engine failures. These engines do consume oil and required a vigilant eye and regular oil check to keep the car topped off.

Good luck!!!

Do you know of the design of the Voodoo? In specific the very low tension rings used in the pistons? I am not trying to be a jerk but so many people are making so much more of this oil consumption and comparing to other production engines. Yes!! This and all engines consume oil. Some more than others. No engine is perfect and all machines have tolerances. The very nature of this very engine contributes to its oil consumption. check it often an top it off when needed. That is all. First everyone was freaking out about the OPG and know the oil consumption. Never trust a dealer and regularly check your oil and as long as it is within Ford's tolerance you should be good to go.

Price sounds high. Search Auto trader for both new and used 17s. I think you'll find MSRP deals common on new ones, with the occasional under MSRP.

Used ones should be at least 5K off whatever their MSRP was, IMHO.

I've consumed 1.5 quarts in 8500 miles. My old Coyote did that if not worse.

You guys need to stop treating your cars like they're made of glass. 200 miles. Floored it. Again and again and again and again and again and again.............

Anyway, back on topic. No. Shenanigans. Too much for that many miles. Try to drag them down to like 50 or so.

Too much for used, low 50s if that. You can get new for a few grand more.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to pass, but I might take it for a ride.

Got my 17 preowned with 1400 miles for $57 last September. They are asking a few thousand more then I'd for that many miles.
