Confirmed! 2019 Bullitt Mustang has cast aluminum shift forks

I started disassembling the MY82-D4 from my 2019 Bullitt today and confirmed that the shift forks are not the upgraded metal or steel ones that I’ve heard many say Ford had upgraded to (including the repairing of some problematic 2018 GTs).

My car was built in 01/19.. is there some place on the trans that shows a build date for it?

I checked the TSBs to see if they had a date range and they don't although oddly the originals mention 2018 and 2019 models but the revised 3/4 TSB says only 2018. This post from CobraJet has them here:

I researched the part numbers from the TSB and came across this MT82 parts sheet that has dates associated with the part numbers here:


The updated shift forks in this document have the following dates:
JR3Z-7230-B (3/4 fork) : 1/12/2019
JR3Z-7230-E (1/2 fork) : 10/1/2018

I don't know the accuracy of the Scribd document but that was all that came up and I thought the January 2019 date of the 3/4 fork was interesting.

According to the 2019 service manual there is a build plate on the RH side near the driveshaft flange. The first four digits(bottom row) are the place of manufacture, the next 6 digits are the build date. I have to change oil/filter next week and will check my build plate (car delivered April 2019).

Did you get to look at the shift forks for 1-2 etc to see if they are similar to the one shown?

Not yet, but I’m gonna guess that they are. I’ll post pics once I get there though.
