After having bought a new Mustang in the USA in 1967 and imported it to UK in 1969, I bought a new 2016 manual 2.3 ecoboost here in UK for old times sake.
I enjoy it greatly but I despair about local service quality.
My major Midlands Ford dealership has been consistently poor. For example, it took them 3 goes to replace the dual mass flywheel under warranty. More recently, they could not even correct unusual inner-edge front tyre wear which led to both tyres being ditched. After I went to a local tyre specialist to have a proper alignment done I returned to the Ford Dealer to complain. The Service Manager told me âYes, we use them, too. Our equipment isnât able to deal with this.â
He had just replaced the tyres and returned the car to me as âwithin specâ completely ignoring the fact that the front end was badly out of alignment. Yes, this from a MAIN FORD DEALER!
I need a Service and MOT soon and I want a competent motor engineer in the (East) Midlands who actually knows about Mustangs. Preferably someone who can also improve the poor gearshift action which has been awfully ânotchyâ from new.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
