Guys,

I need your help about this 2 things : Cold Air Intake & Throttle Body

I can't decide what to buy and what to use for my GT ...

1. Cold Air Intake

I saw a lot of guys who have installed the Airaid model and a lot who removed the Airaid to install the Steeda version.

Which is the best ?

Link to Steeda : http://www.americanmuscle.com/steeda-proflow-cai-notune-1516gt.html

2. Throttle Body

A lot of guys installed a Throttle Body Spacer, but why not swap the entire stuff for a more performed one ?

Link to Throttle Body Power Plus 90mm : http://www.cjponyparts.com/bbk-throttle-body-power-plus-90mm-gt-2015-2016/p/TB115/

Link to Throttle Body Spacer : http://www.cjponyparts.com/airaid-throttle-body-spacer-poweraid-gt-2011-2016/p/TBS29/

Is it better to install a spacer or this new Throttle body, apart the price difference ( :p ) ?

With both installed together, do I get some Engine problems or is it a good mod ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Cheers

Steeda CAI hands down.

As for the TB... why? With the stock intake manifold you do not need to switch TB's, just a waste of money my friend.

Hi there

Unless your tuning the car a CAI is pointless, unless it is purely for noise!

1. Fit a panel filter.
2. Do not mess with throttle bodies, they need custom dyno tune to get the throttle tables correct, VCT etc. otherwise you will get bad surging.

Throttle bodie spacers are just snake oil, maybe 30 years ago on older engines they did something, but on the Coyote it will do nothing!

If you want more power, just get a remap it will yield a lot more performance. :)

Thanks guys for your answers.

Gibbo205, I don't want to make noise, I've my corsa extrem for that :D

That's also in my plans to have a remap of the car. And I was thinking a better CAI may be a good thing for the engine...

For better power I can also put a supercharger kit, but don't want to spend as much of money, just want to make the coyotte a bit better with things like CAI or throttle or anything else.

YLA G, ha ha, I still don't find a high powered dual beam LED bulb ...

A great compromise and a higher redline would be CAI+GT350 intake manifold+GT350 TB+tune.

I'd wait too many are having issues with the GT350 TB.

The best combo with hardly any horsepower loss might be:
350 intake manifolds
stock TB with adapter
stock intake with panel filter.
Tune!

For me at best a CAI on the above might yield a further 10BHP, so 60BHP gain instead of 50BHP, but it no longer looks oem and CAI's have being proven to hurt on road performance due to heat soaking as they are not air tight sealed units.

Plus if your going to go super charger in future, then it is pointless to throw money at a CAI now as most supercharger kits come with CAI's.

Our CAI has proven to be very popular, check it out if you haven't already. I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever CAI you choose. We do have 10% off applied at checkout today though :)

David@Steeda, thanks for your answer.

I'll not buy the stuff now, just try to find the right one for the car to make a purchase within the next month.

Gibbo205, I'd love to put a supercharger on my car, but it's way too expensive ;)

Just try to find the good compromise to increase a bit the power of the engine without doing a lot of engine modification.

That's a tuning issue, not a TB issue. Problem solved with Lund.
No its not solved by Lund at all, the guy who was running that setup with a Lund tune, only just recently posted he went back to the stock throttle body because Lund could not fully dial out the surging.

So on his car it was not solved, far from it. :(
