Would be very curious how they got to 3225 with what appears to be a full dash in place.
Probably cut as much of the bottom of the car out as possible, added carbon fiber doors, trunk, hood and fenders and painted them to look OEM. Add in light weight wheels, strip the interior, bumper supports, light weight battery, no stereo equipment or any other non essential items to do it. That’s a huge weight break right there. 3200# with a good power plant is like a missile down the 1/4 mile.

Yea I assume it had an aftermarket k-member as it looked like I could see through more of the front than I normally could and I noticed the lack of exhaust tips at the back which tells me the exhaust probably ends near the diff or something which also saves weight.

I was curious as some of those mods would be detrimental to my car's goals and class rules.

The brakes are tiny too. Seems sacrelidge on the 350, but to each their own!

I think I saw where the CF fenders are only a pound or two more than the stock aluminum one. But the doors are huge, and the seat swap.

a catastrophic crank failure will be well north of 10k. Really comes down to long-term goals, I think. If you'll eventually chase big power and get serious, there's no real reason to do a S/C first. But if you're still wanting to just have fun and are comfortable planning for a motor build, then S/C will be more fun.

I don't say this just because of the FPC - anyone racing should be ready to buy a new motor :D
i agree and i do have plans to toss a built motor into this car

To be honest, it doesn't look like they did much, just a set of wheels, drag brakes from aerospace exhaust dumps, and a simple gut. from the look of it, it seems to have stock doors hood, etc.

he says that the car still has radio, speakers, AC, carpet, left in it still

Front strut brace is missing from the engine bay pics but agrred no sign of lightweight doors or hood. Assuming bumper supports may be gone but can't see that.

Hey all! I've got an update for everyone!

So, as everyone has seen, I'm heading to the track to get data on the car on the 25th. As the car sits when it goes down there, the only mods that have been done are Mickey Thompson Street S/S 305 35R20 rears and Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 275 35R20 fronts and a Lund 93 tune with an MGW shifter and BMR motor mounts!

Now for the new stuff! I will be heading to VMP on May 9th as well with some new goodies, and those are a Lund E85 tune and PMAS cold air intake, and I'll get data for that!.

The next stuff to do to the car on my bucket list after those two outings in order
Get the car switched over to Amsoil.
All of BMR's suspension goodies I can do, and a set of Steeda MagneRide drag springs.
Finish the catback (ARH full catback).
the front and rear brake conversion
a set of VMS rims and ET Street R bias ply
opg
AFS Cobra jet intake manifold with a Lund E85 tune
front and rear Kelltracs and switch the springs out

There are also some other goodies I'm going to do to the car, but I just don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet.

I've also thought about temporarily gutting the car and going for the
Quickest and Fastest Manual Naturally aspirated S550 Mustang world record that hasn't been reset since 2021 and was last done in a GT350, but we will see how far we get with that (as far as I know). 10.36 @ 132.

Now here is the big topic: BOOOOOOOOOOST!

What do I do for a boost? And how soon? Well, I'm not sure myself I really want to do turbos, but there are some things that are pushing me the supercharger route, and a part of me really wants to see how far we can push the 5.2 while staying n/a, as the record is a 10.36 @ 132. Maybe we can push the N/A platform to the 9s??? If anyone has any tips or tricks, please let me know! And don't hesitate to let me know what you guys want to see!

Anyway, that's it for today! I will be back to post updates and pictures when everything gets here and when I have data. I hope everyone has a good day!
well i lied about vmp on may 9th its actually at mri

Well, Friday night didn't go the best. My Draggy wouldn't log anything, and the track got oiled down 3 times, so we only got 2 runs in but forgot to turn off my TC on the first one. :facepalm:I will post a more detailed update later today. I'm datalogging the pmas tune with Lund atm

Lots going on out there and it’s easy to forget a step or turn something off that can ruin a pass. Stay with it.

Time for the more detailed update!

As everyone that follows this thread knows, the car went down to Virginia Motorsports Park, aka VMP, for some testing. Unfortunately, the first hour and 20 minutes got rained out. When they got everything back going and the track prepped, I was one of the first of 4 cars up. Boy, did I mess up. My stupid self forgot to turn TC all the way off. 🤣⁣ So you can guess what the car did. Yep, that's right, it bogged hard. I guess dumping the clutch with launch control set to 4000 rpm and TC turned on doesn't mix too well, but I will tell you this: the MT Street S/S bit that track hard. Unfortunately, we only got one more pass, and the car ran slower but trapped faster. It ran a 13.1 @ 116, and then it all went downhill from there. The next 2 cars oiled down the track in front, which only left us 20 minutes until the track closed. So they ran out the rest of the test and tune. And when they did, I was in the car to run after the pair in front, and the car in front of me oiled down the track, so we packed the car back up, aired up the tires, and went home. That's the end of the bad news. on to some good news

Saturday I put on my PMAS cold air and new 93 tune to data log the car for Lund, and oh my, I didn't realize how much the stock cold air intake system was holding this car back. The power band is so much more alive. I'm hoping to have E85 in the car with a tune by this weekend and take the car to Maryland International Raceway on Sunday to see what it does. I might rip out a seat or two as well. I'm unsure as of yet. When I get some time this week, I will post a picture of the timeslip. Until then, I hope everyone has a good day/night, and don't be afraid to ask me questions!
