I painted my coil covers but did not want to put them on the car until they cured. Is it ok to drive my car with the coil covers off? I cannot see why not. Thank you, CH

It is probably better with them off. Less heat buildup.

Post pics! I'm thinking about painting mine matte red.
I painted them Ford Blue. I got one coat on them at lunch and was going to repaint after work. The problem is if I didn't repaint them with in 1 hour of the initial coat I have to wait seven days and re-sand/re-paint them. I researched and found out this is true for enamel paint. Found this out after the fact. I am not happy finding out I will have to wait seven days according to mfg. to re paint. :(

What kind of paint are you using?

This is with one light coat on the coil covers. Next week I plan to resand and repaint. I ordered Ford Blue Boss 302 covers for every day use. I plan on experimenting with these. I might repaint them silver with red lettering and black upper/lower line.

I considered that. My car is magnetic. I'm kinda old school and the blue gave it a pop. The picture is no where near finished. I need to resand it and paint it blue again. And maybe again. Then paint the letters and lines black. Then clear coat. Definitely have a few more steps ahead. It sucks having to wait 5 days to let the paint cure according to mfg. If I rush the curing it could bubble the paint and screw things up.

Why is this in the Suspension and Brakes section?

I feel like this was supposed to be a troll thread. Painting "Coil Overs" and leave them off the car.
