As stated im trying to source any helpful information about fitment/adjustments needed in order to install a cobra jet intake manifold into a 2015 s550. will new lower engine mounts be needed? will a cowl hood make up for the space needed to close. just trying to inquire any information .

There's plenty of info on the board on the topic, you just have to dig deep. Here are a few threads I had bookmarked back when I was pondering the CJ.

If memory serves, I believe you'll need to trim the hood bracing where it will hit the rear of the intake with the hood closed. IIRC, lowered motor mounts will eliminate that need though.

yeah i read somewhere that the hood wouldnt close unless the engine mounts were lower or like you said cutting into the hood. i appreciate the thread short cuts.

I know someone with a 17 who cut there hood a little cause it was barely rubbing and I know someone with a pp 17 who did nothing and no rubbing.. donā€™t know or would think if a 15 is different from a 17

yeah those were pretty much what i saw online but i wonderd if it can just be remedied by switching out the oem hood for like a cowl hood or the gt500 hood.

Cowl hood would probably work too, it just would depend on any bracing present on underside. I saw a video of some dude doing minor trimming on rear of hood to clear back of manifold. I put those poly engine mounts in, I think they were an inch drop. I can feel the engine vibrate a little more inside which honestly is kinda cool. šŸ˜Ž

probably the rout im going to go. Ideally i would like to keep my s550 as stock looking as possible, but with some nice HP gains under the hood.

That CJ manifold makes it almost a different car. I couldn't believe the difference up top.

Keep in mind that dropping the engine, on top of creating some decent vibration, will also lower your long tubes if you have them. Iā€™m thinking about running a CJ manifold at some point as well and Iā€™d hate turning my ARH headers into speed bump detectors

There have been a couple of solutions as listed here that allow it to fit. I have seen a few members that cut the structure of the stock hood and end up making it fit but that isn't really my favorite way of doing it honestly. If I had to choose a best route, it would probably be an aftermarket hood. Motor mounts work as well and we typically use them on all of our shop cars to install Whipples on them. If you have any questions about a CJ setup, feel free to message me anytime. Lethalperformance.com

Go with a cowl hood. Not only will it clear the CJ manifold but it will make your car look way more aggressive. We sell Cervinis brand hoods here at www.lethalperformance.com! Give me or @Stephen@lethal a shout!
